NTSB: Elevator Components of Crashed Learjet in Florida Found Miles Away from Main Wreckage

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced a significant development in its on-site investigation into the fatal crash involving a Bombardier Learjet 60 business jet in Florida.

According to statements shared by NTSB Board Member Tom Chapman, major portions of the aircraft’s left elevator—which controls pitch movement—were discovered in three separate pieces roughly 1.3 to 3.8 miles (approximately 2 to 6 kilometers) away from the main crash site. Investigators stated that these components, believed to have separated from the airframe in mid-air, have been secured for comprehensive technical examination.

Officials reiterated their request urging local residents not to handle or move any debris or components potentially belonging to the aircraft to preserve the integrity of the investigation. The public was advised to report any identified parts directly to the NTSB or local law enforcement authorities.
